As part of the $1.2 billion Westfield Sydney development Japan’s number one headphone manufacturer Audio-Technica has opened the first specialist headphone/earphone store in Australia. Westfield Sydney is located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD between Myer and David Jones and brings together the biggest names in fashion worldwide like Zara, Prada, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Stuart Weitzman, GAP, and DKNY Jeans, along with a host of premium Australian retailers including Cue, Sportsgirl, Wanted Shoes, Zimmerman and Carla Zampatti – and now Audio-Technica.
Headphones complement high fashion at Westfield Sydney
The Audio-Technica Lounge displays a comprehensive range of studio, Hi-Fi, DJ and noise cancelling products alongside the fashion iPod type headphones and in-ear models that have elevated Audio-Technica to number one in the white-hot Japanese electronic products market. In total the Audio-Technica Lounge includes over 100 model and colour types.
‘Try-before-you-buy’ is a key component of the Audio-Technica vision, so there are 13 listening stations for visitors to check out a variety of headphone models. Seven stations feature the latest headphone release with a fixed music programme. The other six stations are integrated within a huge six meter lounge with comfortable cut-out seating spaces where shoppers can relax and experience the full impact of the headphones. To assist the process a touch-screen palate of music genres and selection of tracks within each genre is available at each of the lounge listening stations along with a plug-in function for those who wish to audition using their own iPad/iPhone, etc.
With a beautiful design concept conceived by David Caon and Tom Williams at Sydney’s Juicy Design, The Audio-Technica Lounge makes a stunning visual impression that is right at home in among the biggest names in world fashion.
The Audio-Technica Lounge is open for business at K111, Urban Level.
